StoryCorps Recording Week

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
All Locations
The library is hosting and facilitating StoryCorps recordings for the week of January 24-29, 2021. Locations and recording times are to be determined.

Since 2003, tens of thousands of everyday people have shared life stories with family  and friends through StoryCorps. Each conversation is recorded on a free copy to  share, and is preserved at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.  StoryCorps is one of the largest oral history projects of its kind.

A StoryCorps interview is 40 minutes of uninterrupted time for meaningful  conversation with a friend or loved one. When you arrive at your session, a trained  facilitator will meet you to explain the process, make you feel comfortable in the recording space, and help you get the most out of your time together.

Please review the StoryCorps Safe Community Agreements below in advance of your  recording:

• Masks are required throughout the recording experience.

• Social distancing is required. Participants who choose not to distance, do so at  their own risk. Facilitators will maintain a 6-foot distance at all times.

• Prior to your interview, you will be screened for COVID-19 exposure and  symptoms and will be asked to sign an acknowledgement of risk form.

• You agree to postpone your interview if you are feeling ill or have tested  positive for COVID-19 within two weeks of the recording.
